Basketball career

Hicran Özen began her basketball career at Post SV Giessen. In 1999, the 1.69 m tall player moved to the first division club BC Marburg , where she - initially as a supplementary player - was mostly used in the position of build-up player ( guard ). In the 2002/03 season she received significantly more hours and was on the way to becoming a regular player. But in 2003 she suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament and was only able to watch the trophy and the German championship of BC Marburg from the gang. For the 2011/2012 season, Hicran Özen was signed by the then reigning German champion and cup winner TSV 1880 Wasserburg . At the end of the 2011/2012 season, Hicran Özen ended her first division career and hired for the 2012/2013 season with the regional division Krofdorf-Gleiberg. There she suffered another cruciate ligament rupture in the last home game of the season and did not return to the team until the 2015/2016 season.

Greatest successes

In the 2002/03 season she was a member of the BC Marburg team that won the German Cup and the German Championship , but was unable to actively intervene in the decisive phase due to a torn cruciate ligament. In 2002 and 2005 she also won the bronze medal in the cup competition with BC Marburg. In the 2009/2010 season she reached 3rd place in the championship with BC Pharmaserv Marburg. She was also able to achieve third place in the cup competition in the 2010/2011 season with BC Marburg, and Hicran Özen also played her 200th Bundesliga game in the 2010/2011 season. In January 2011 she was elected Sportswoman of the Year 2010 in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district.

National team

In 2005 Hicran Özen became a regular player in Marburg and increasingly moved into the starting line-up . In 2006 she was appointed to the senior national team. She made her international debut in the friendly against Turkey on August 9 in Istanbul (64-76 defeat) and scored six points. She later successfully competed in the European Championship qualification . In 2007 she was called back to the women's national basketball team for the women's basketball championship from September 24 to October 7, 2007 in Chieti / Italy , but renounced the nomination in order to cure a foot injury.
