Hicret mosque
The name Hicret Mosque ( Arabic مسجد هجرة Hijra masjid , Turkish Hicret Camii , German emigration mosque ) refers to the emigration of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in the year 622.
meaning
As early as 615, followers of Mohammed had emigrated in a first wave from pagan Mecca to Christian Ethiopia . Muhammad's escape and asylum in Medina 622 - the "real" hijra - was, strictly speaking, the second such "exodus".
