Hildebrand Dussler

Hildebrand Dussler (born October 8, 1893 in Augsburg ; † May 2, 1979 in Marktoberdorf ) was a German Benedictine (OSB) and local researcher.

Life

He attended school in Augsburg. After starting studies at the TH Munich , volunteered in the First World War. After the war he entered Ettal Abbey ( Primiz 1923) and studied philosophy, mathematics and physics in Rome , Munich and Würzburg . In 1927/1928 he passed the state examination for the higher teaching post. He taught at grammar school and philosophy college near St. Stephan and at the Ettal educational institution. Laid out for military service in 1939, he served in various units ( lieutenant colonel ) until 1944 . He returned to Ettal Abbey in 1946. From 1947 he directed the high school in Füssen, later the St. Gotthard high school . He was an honorary citizen of the Lechbruck community .
