Hildegard Uhrmacher , married Hildegard Kronstein-Uhrmacher , (born December 15, 1939 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Originally a teacher, Hildegard Uhrmacher practiced this profession for three years in Waldniel . At the same time she took singing lessons with Clemens Clettenberg, Peter Witsch and in the studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein . There she made her debut in 1964 as Vespina in L'Infedeltà Delusa by Joseph Haydn .

From 1965 to 1967 she was a regular member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. From 1967 to 1973 she worked at the Staatstheater Kassel . In 1974 she joined the Hamburg State Opera as the first female coloratura soprano , of which she was a member until 1984.

In addition, she performed at the Munich State Opera from 1970 to 1978 , and she also made guest appearances in Cologne , Dortmund , Nuremberg , Frankfurt am Main , Karlsruhe , the Vienna State Opera , the Nederlands Opera in Amsterdam , the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Welsh Opera in Cardiff .

In 1980 she took part in the title role of the opera Salome at the Weikersheim Castle Festival . From 1981 to 1988 there were guest contracts with the Stuttgart State Opera and from 1981 to 1989 with the Hanover State Theater . In 1991 she could be heard in Bernd Alois Zimmermann's The Soldiers in Hanover and in 1995 as Felice in Wolf-Ferarris I quattro rusteghi . In 1995 she had the role of Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein .

Her roles included the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte , Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail , Despina in Così fan tutte , Baronin in Der Wildschütz and Gilda in Rigoletto . Since the mid-1980s she taught as a professor at the Hanover University of Music , and later at the Detmold University of Music .

Uhrmacher was married to the baritone Gotthard Kronstein and has since performed under the name Hildegard Kronstein-Uhrmacher. Under this name she also taught the master classes of the International Music Academy for Soloists (IMAS).

In 2006 her autobiography Hilde, you can do it, was published .
