Hiltrud Grote

Hiltrud Grote (born November 13, 1936 in Oberhausen ; † October 3, 2010 in Hanover ) was a German local politician and is considered a pioneer of the comprehensive school movement in Hanover.

Life

Hiltrud Grote lived in Hanover in the Limmer district since 1964 .

After founding the Integrated Comprehensive School Linden in 1971, Hiltrud Grote became involved in various ways for the IGS Linden: She led seminars for the parent representatives and was chairwoman of the school parents' council. From 1974 to 1981 she was the spokeswoman for the parents in the " Non-Profit Society Comprehensive School Lower Saxony ", also active in the federal board of the non-profit society comprehensive school .

As a member of the SPD , Hiltrud Grote was active in the Linden-Limmer district council and - since the district council was introduced in 1981 - from January 27, 1988 to November 18, 1996, the first woman to serve as district mayor in Hanover .
