Hiltrud Wessling (born Hiltrude Katharina Hauschild ; born January 21, 1932 in Neuwied , † February 12, 2008 in Münster ) was a volunteer citizen.

Life

After elementary school, she first worked as a secretary and later until 1982 as managing director at the Landesjugendring Westfalen-Lippe .

Hiltrud Wessling founded the State Parents 'Council of Comprehensive Schools in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1971 , which she chaired for over ten years, as well as the Comprehensive School Working Group in the Federal Parents' Council . During this time she began working as a lay judge at the Münster district court .

She began her involvement in geriatric politics in 1983 with a group “Old for Old” and a discussion group “Caring Relatives”. As a member of the Münster Seniors' Council, she founded the "Altes Backhaus" meeting place in Münster in 1988, which she ran for over ten years. Afterwards she was first deputy and then chairwoman of the state seniors' representation in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2003 until her death she represented the interests of the elderly as a member of the WDR Broadcasting Council .

In 1957 she married Josef Gerhard Wessling, with whom she had sons Georg and Ewald Wessling .
