The State Youth Association of North Rhine-Westphalia (LJR NRW) was founded in 1948 by youth associations in North Rhine-Westphalia . The central task of the Landesjugendring NRW is to help shape and safeguard the framework conditions for youth association work. The State Youth Association of North Rhine-Westphalia represents the common interests of the member and affiliate associations as well as young people in public, especially vis-à-vis parliament and the government. In addition, the Landesjugendring NRW is involved, for example, in state youth welfare committees, committees of the broadcasting corporations, youth protection and advisory boards of various institutions. Based on the understanding of child and youth policy as a cross-sectional task , the State Youth Association of North Rhine-Westphalia takes a position on fundamental issues of child, youth, education and social policy.

  • The Landesjugendring NRW is a registered association . Its organs are the general assembly, the main committee and the board of directors. The board is elected by the members of the general assembly.
  • 26 member and affiliate associations are united in the State Youth Association NRW. The member associations send representatives entitled to vote to the general assembly and the main committee. All member associations can participate equally in the committees of the State Youth Association of North Rhine-Westphalia and make decisions. Membership in the State Youth Association of North Rhine-Westphalia requires recognition of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany .
