The menhir on the boundary between Thomm and Waldrach is a natural and cultural monument in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Trier-Saarburg .

The menhir is a monolithic quartzite block with a height of about 1.8 m, which is located west of Thomm near the state road 151 (formerly federal road 52 ) at about 427 m above sea level. NN and is assigned to the late Neolithic . There is no corresponding rock in the vicinity, so the non- autochthonous rock must have been transported here. The menhir lies on a straight line connecting the stone from Beuren and the menhir from Farschweiler , also in the district of Trier-Saarburg.

The formerly nearby Althinkelhaus on old Poststrasse and Neuhinkelhaus on Landesstrasse 149 take their names from the Hinkelstein .

In the coat of arms of the municipality of Thomm, the menhir is symbolized by a silver tip in the lower part of the shield.
