Hiroo Shima ( Japanese 嶋 宏大 , Shima Hiroo ; born May 10, 1963 in Shimokawa ) is a former Japanese ski jumper .

At the Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo in 1984 Shima jumped to 45th place on the normal hill and 51st place on the large hill.

On February 9, 1985, about a year after the Winter Games, Shima competed in his first ski jumping World Cup . In Sapporo he was able to jump into the points for the first time with 11th place. In his second World Cup competition a year later on the same hill, he achieved this with an 8th place.

In the following season Shima entered the Four Hills Tournament 1986/87 , but ended up only in the back places and was therefore unsuccessful. In the first World Cup after the tour, however, he was able to jump on the podium in Sapporo with 3rd place for the first and only time in his career. After he was able to win more points in the second competition with 6th place, he ended the 1986/87 World Cup season in 29th place in the overall standings.

In the same year he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf and achieved 60th place on the large hill. At the turn of the year he played the Four Hills Tournament in 1987/88 , but was only able to jump under the top 100 in Bischofshofen and then ended his active ski jumping career at the age of 23 after the tour.
