The Hirschberg ( 1039  m ) is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest east of the city of Zwiesel in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park not far from the border with the Czech Republic . It is completely forested, the precipitation on its south and east slopes feeds the Frauenau drinking water reservoir .

The closest settlement is the Buchenau district of the Lindberg community . The nearest neighboring mountains are the Kleine Rachel ( 1399  m ) and the Große Rachel ( 1453  m ) to the southwest, and the Kiesruck ( 1261  m ) to the north .
