Hirten is part of the municipality of Burgkirchen an der Alz and a village in the Altötting district . It is located on State Road 2356 between the Alz and the Walder Mühlbach .
history
The so-called “Hürdensteg” over the Alz, first mentioned in documents in 1508, is named after Hirten. On January 1, 1969, the community of Neukirchen an der Alz and the places Aichelberg , Auwies , Beiln , Bergham , Brodstrumm , Edhof , Engelsberg , Griesstätt , Gufflham, Gunzing , Hiebl , Hirten, Höresham , Hundsberg , Königshäusl , Lötschau , Magerl , Oswald , Schralling , Thal , Trinkberg and Urfahrn merged from the previously independent municipality of Gufflham to form the new municipality of Hirten. At the 1970 census, the community had 50 parts of the community and 1,342 inhabitants. On January 1, 1978, the community was dissolved. While a smaller part was reclassified to the Kirchweidach community , the main part came to Burgkirchen an der Alz.
Power plant at shepherds
The Alz Canal of the Bavarian nitrogen works , which comes from Tacherting , ends at Margarethenberg . At Hirten's, the process water from the power station there is fed directly into the Alzwerke canal , which from there leads to the Salzach , which is reached 5 km north of Burghausen .
