Neukirchen an der Alz (officially Neukirchen adAlz ) is a part of the municipality of Kirchweidach . The hamlet with church is in the Altötting district .

Neukirchen an der Alz is located south of Unterneukirchen near the Alz , a tributary of the Inn .

history

At Neukirchen an der Alz there is a medieval section fortification on the Margarethenberg. The Catholic Church of St. Maria belonged to the Ranshofen Monastery in the 12th century and later to Raitenhaslach . It is a late Gothic hall church, built 1439–55. The base of the tower is, however, already late Romanesque. Neukirchen became an independent municipality with the municipal edict of 1818. In 1875 the community of Neukirchen was renamed Neukirchen adAlz to avoid confusion with u. a. Unterneukirchen be avoided. The municipality of Neukirchen adAlz was founded on January 1, 1969 with the locations Aichelberg , Auwies , Beiln , Bergham , Brodstrumm , Edhof , Engelsberg , Griesstätt , Gufflham, Gunzing , Hiebl , Hirten, Höresham , Hundsberg , Königshäusl , Lötschau , Magerl , Oswald , Schralling , Thal , Trinkberg and Urfahrn merged from the previously independent municipality of Gufflham to form the new municipality of Hirten .

On January 1st, 1978 the community of Hirten (with Neukirchen an der Alz) was dissolved. While Neukirchen an der Alz was reclassified into the municipality of Kirchweidach , the main part came to Burgkirchen an der Alz .
