Hisham Altalib

Hisham Altalib (born 1940 in Mosul , Ninawa , Kingdom of Iraq ) or Hisham Yahya Al-Talib (also in other spellings) is one of the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) near Washington, DC, which sees itself as a think tank of the Muslim Brotherhood from the USA internationally acting American personality of Islam of Iraqi origin.

Live and act

Hisham Altalib was born in the Iraqi city of Mosul. He earned a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Liverpool University (1962) and a Ph.D. in the same subject from Purdue University in Lafayette , Indiana , USA (1974). During his professional activity as an electrical engineer, he became active for Islam in North America . The offices he has held in various Islamic organizations include full-time director of the Leadership Training Department of the Muslim Students Association of the United States and Canada (MSA) (1975–1977) and Secretary General of the International Islamic Federation of Student Organizations (IIFSO) ) 1976. He has led many training camps and seminars in America and abroad. He is a founding member and director of the SAAR Foundation (1983–1995) and a founding member of the International Institute of Islamic Thought ( IIIT ) in 1981. His functions include, in particular, that of the IIIT's long-term finance director.

In 2015 he was recognized for his life's work by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR; Council for American-Islamic Relations).
