The Main Bridge Hochheim is a bridge on the federal highway 671 from Wiesbaden to the Mainspitz triangle . The structure is located in the Hessian communities of Hochheim am Main and Bischofsheim between the junctions Hochheim-Süd and Ginsheim-Gustavsburg and spans the Main at river kilometer 4,000 with a joint superstructure for both carriageways. The motorway bridge is to the east of the approximately parallel Hochheim railway bridge (Kostheimer Bridge) of the Mainz bypass line .

The 916 m long bridge consists of a 600 m long foreland bridge made of prestressed concrete on the north bank of the Main and a subsequent 316 m long river bridge. The main bridge is a three-span steel structure with spans of 83 m at the two peripheral fields and 150 m above the Main. It is a 25 m wide plate beam construction with two full-walled main girders of variable construction heights and an orthotropic deck .

The directional lanes of the bridge have two lanes and one hard shoulder. There is also a shared cycle and footpath on both sides .

Due to bridge damage, there was initially a speed limit of 60 km / h for trucks and 100 km / h for passenger cars in the direction of Wiesbaden since the beginning of February 2017. Due to a defective transition structure, a general speed limit of 40 km / h has applied since April 11, 2017 with only one lane in the direction of Hochheim. A week later, a narrowing of the lane was installed so that vehicles under 44 tons can drive in two lanes again. The restriction is expected to remain in place through November 2017 [obsolete] . Because only then should the replacement of the defective transition structure be completed , according to Hessen Mobil . An exchange of the construction was already planned for this year. In the direction of the Mainspitz triangle, a speed limit of 60 km / h and a weight limit of 44 tonnes have been in effect since then. Before you could drive 120 km / h here too.
