Hofstetten is a district of Oberglatt in the Dielsdorf district in the Unterland of the Canton of Zurich . The name is interpreted as a place where there is a farm .

The settlement lies between Niederglatt and Oberglatt an der Glatt , with the settlement core east of the road from Zurich to Kaiserstuhl . Along this street it has grown together with the Oberglatt station district; There are mainly commercial buildings along Kaiserstuhlstrasse. The Kreuzstrasse restaurant was located at the intersection of the local Oberglatt – Dielsdorf road with Kaiserstuhlstrasse, west of the center of the settlement.

Hofstetten is connected to public transport with the Postbus stop Oberglatt, Mösli Hofstetten on Kaiserstuhlstrasse. The nearest train station is Oberglatt on the Bülach – Zurich line .

The settlement was first mentioned in 1130 as Hofstetin . From 1442 Hofstetten belonged to the Obervogtei Neuamt , which existed until the French troops marched in in 1798. The path led through the settlement from Bülach over the Höhragen to Mettmenhasli and further into the Furttal . The section towards Bülach of the traffic route that is only partially preserved today was called Hofstetter Kirchweg , which indicates that it was used by churchgoers.
