The Holtwicker See (also Holtwick-See ) is a seven hectare lake on the A31 near Coesfeld in North Rhine-Westphalia .
Location and description
The Holtwicker See is located almost 80 m west of the federal highway 31 in the area of the municipality of Rosendahl between Ahaus and Coesfeld . Since 1984 it has been owned by the Landesfischereiverband Westfalen und Lippe eV and is mainly used for fishing today. Carp , tench , pikeperch , perch , roach and moderlieschen live in the lake . For wildlife conservation were crayfish and large mussels exposed in the lake. The crabs and mussels are protected all year round.
