Holvika is a village in the Norwegian municipality of Kinn in the province of Vestland .
It is located on the north side of the Vågsfjord on the north bank of the bay of the same name, Holvika, on the south coast of the island of Vågsøya . Fylkesvei 601 runs through the village from Måløy in the east to Vågsvåg in the west . To the north of the village, large mountain ranges rise up to heights of up to 600 meters with Mount Veten (613 meters).
During the Second World War , Holvika was the site of fighting on December 27, 1941 as part of a British commando company.
The village has 299 inhabitants (as of 2019) on an area of 0.19 km², and there is also a primary school in Holvika.
Personalities
The Norwegian author and teacher Eva Skomsø Svanøe (* 1954) was born in Holvika . The author and educator Per Arne Skomsø (* 1947) came to Holvika as a toddler and grew up here.
