The wooden church of St. Sava ( Serbian : Црква брвнара Светог Саве, Crkva brvnara Svetog Save) is a Serbian Orthodox wooden church in the town of Jagodina belonging to Kolare village in Serbia .

The branch church , built between 2014 and 2016, is dedicated to Saint Sava of Serbia , the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church and national saint .

It belongs to the parish of Dragocvet in the Belič deanery of the Šumadija eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The church stands at the entrance to Kolare, near the road that connects Jagodina with Rekovac . Kolare is located south of Jagodina on the Lugomir River and has about 590 inhabitants. The city of Jagodina belongs to the Okrug Pomoravlje in the Šumadija region in central Serbia .

In the fenced church yard, next to the church of St. Sava, there is also a wooden bell tower with a church bell and an object for lighting candles.

The idea to build a church in the village of Kolare already came from the 1990s. In 2014 was with the blessing of the current bishop of the Eparchy of Šumadija Jovan (Mladenovic), in the tenure of the then parish priest of the parish Dragocvet, Aleksandar Gajic started with the construction of the church. In the same year, Bishop Jovan (Mladenović) consecrated and consecrated the church foundations, church crosses and the church bell. In 2016 the construction work on the church was finished.

And on June 1, 2017, the feast of the Holy Martyr Patrikije, the Church of St. Sava was solemnly consecrated by Bishop Jovan (Mladenović) with the presence of many believers. During the solemn inauguration of the church, a small part of the relics of the Holy Great Martyr Tsar Lazar was placed in the church altar . The church choir Srpski Pravoslavni Pojci from the Serbian capital Belgrade sang during the consecration of the church and the following Holy Liturgy .

The following clergy assisted the bishop at the inauguration: Archpriest Radosav Stanković (retired priest from Jagodina), Archpriest Pavle Kandić from the Vranje eparchy in southern Serbia, the priests of the old Church of St. Archangel Michael in Jagodina Archpriest Aleksandar Gajić (former parish priest of the Dragocvet parish) and Dejan Đorđević , Archpriest Nebojša Mladenović (Deanery Representative of the Deanery Belič) and Bojan Dimitrijević , Parish Priest of the Maršić Parish in the city of Kragujevac .

Also, the children of one of the main activists of the Church were baptized by the bishop in the church that same day. The main activists of the church are: Žarko Jovanović , Veljko Vulić and Nenad Milošević all from Kolare village and Vladan Radovanović from Jagodina.

The current parish priest in the parish of Dragocvet is Srđan Kandić .

The church of St. Sava is made of wood. The cross- domed church has an altar - apse on the east side, a central dome in the middle of the nave over the intersection of the side arms of the church and a small second dome with an entrance portal on the west side. At all four corner points of the church there are four more small turrets without crosses. The tapering roofs on the domes and the dark green color of the roof are striking.

The church has three crosses and the bell tower has one. Entrances to the church are on the west, north and south sides of the church. Above the west entrance there is an icon of St. Sava.

The interior of the church has not yet been frescoed . Typical of Orthodox churches, it has a wooden iconostasis with icons painted in the traditional Byzantine manner .
