The Hong Kong Cycling Association , or HKCA for short ( Chinese 香港 單車 聯會 / 香港 单车 联会 , Pinyin Xiānggǎng Dānchēguǎn Liánhuì , Jyutping Hoeng 1 gong 2 Daan 1 ce 1 Lyun 4 wui 2 ), is the regional umbrella association for cycling in Hong Kong and is a member the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) .
The HKCA was founded in 1960 and in the early years focused on promoting road cycling . Later, track racing , BMX -race, artistic cycling and cycle ball added gradually. Since 1994 the association has been organizing mountain bike races and also offers races for young people and children. Since then, Hong Kong has become increasingly important in the local Asian cycling region and has assumed a greater role as an event location. On the advice of the local government and due to the variety of different events that the association offered in addition to cycling races, such as general safety training for beginners or special mountain bike or artificial bike courses for enthusiasts, "The Cycling Association of Hong Kong, China Ltd." “ , CAHK for short ( 中國 香港 單車 聯會 有限公司 / 中国 香港 单车 联会 有限公司 ), founded as a new legal form for the HKCA. It offers the association many advantages, for example in legal or administrative terms, and since July 2014 it has officially taken over responsibility for promoting cycling in Hong Kong as an entrepreneurial company in a new legal form as CAHK .
