Lee Hong bin ( kor. 이홍빈, born September 29, 1993 ), better known as Hongbin , is a South Korean singer and actor who was under contract with Jellyfish Entertainment . In May 2012 he made his debut as a member of the South Korean boy group VIXX and started his acting career in the SBS romantic drama Glorious Day as Yoo Ji Ho. He had his first leading role in 2016 in KBS2 fantasy action romance Moorim School as Wang Chi Ang.

Private

Hongbin was born and raised in Jayang-dong, Seoul . He has two older sisters. He studied at Dong-ah Broadcasting College .

2012–2013: Debut with VIXX

Hongbin was one of ten apprentices who were voted into the Mnet reality show MyDOL and ultimately became part of the final line-up of the new boy group VIXX . The group had with Super Hero on May 24, 2012 on M! Countdown her debut. During MyDOL he appeared in Brian Joo's music video for "Let This Die" and alongside actress Son Eun-seo in Seo In-guk's music video for "Tease Me" .

In 2013 he was seen together with the members of VIXX in episode 4 of the SBS TV drama The Heirs .

2014–2015: Acting debut and moderation

In 2014, Hongbin made his acting debut in the SBS romantic drama Glorious Day alongside Go Woo-ri from girl group Rainbow . That same year, Hongbin and N were backup dancers in K.Will , Mamamoo and Wheesung's music video for "Peppermint Chocolate" .

From March 3, 2015 to October 13, 2015, he presented the SBS MTV music show "The Show" with Jiyeon from the girl group T-ara and Zhou Mi from the boy group Super Junior-M . In September 2015, Hongbin got his first leading role as Wang Chi Ang in KBS2 action romance Moorim School .

2016-present: Moorim School and Web Drama

On January 11, 2016 started on KBS2 broadcasting Moorim School . In this drama he plays the troublemaker Wang Chi Ang at the side of Lee Hyun Woo. On January 18, 2016 VIXX released the original soundtrack of the drama with its title song "Alive" under the name Moorim School OST Part. 1 . Viewers of the drama gave positive feedback on the song. By adding the soundtrack, VIXX wanted to show their support for Hongbin's first lead role. On February 1st, 2016 VIXX Moorim School released OST Part. 2 with the title song "The King". In September he got one of the leading roles in the web drama What's Up With These Kids? Alongside VIXX leader N and Chanmi from the girl group AOA . which has aired on Naver TV since November 16 .
