The Hopkins County Museum and Heritage Park is an open air museum and museum for Hopkins County, Texas , located in Sulfur Springs , the county seat, and operated by the Hopkins County Historical Society.

The Hopkins County Museum is housed in the George H. Wilson House, built in 1910. The house itself is notable for its unusual architectural features, including the carved pillars, embossed tin roof , double walls and a Regency- style ceiling . The ceilings of the house are original, with the exception of one room where a ceiling from an earlier opera house was installed. In the museum's collection are Caddo artifacts, memorabilia from the Civil War , dolls , folk art , fossils found locally and historical women's clothing. A chandelier from the Palace of Maximilian I in Mexico City can also be seen in the museum . The exhibits shown were typically provided by families who live in Hopkins County.

The Heritage Park has an area of 4.5 hectares and shows historic houses and buildings that stood elsewhere and were rebuilt on the property. In 2013 there were eleven buildings in the Heritage Park, most of which are from the 19th century and have been restored. These include a working blacksmith's shop , chapel , village shop , farmhouses, flour mill , log cabins and printing works, and Atkins House, which is the county's oldest brick building. With the Heritage Park, the museum intends to show a typical small town from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.

The Hopkins County Museum and Heritage Park hosts a folk festival in May and an Indian Summer Festival in October, which includes a cooking competition with a Dutch oven , Native American dancers and storytellers, and traditional crafts such as candle-making and butter pounding . In addition, the historic workshops such as the forge and the flour mill are in operation. A Christmas party in the style of the 19th century, as well as handicraft markets and bluegrass concerts are also part of the annual program.

The Texas Historical Commission considers Museum and Heritage Park to be historic sites on the former Bankhead Highway .
