The Hornbeker Mühlenbach is an approx. 7 km long stream in the Duchy of Lauenburg district of the German state Schleswig-Holstein . It rises near Niendorf ad St. and flows near Hornbek through a deep indented valley into the Elbe-Lübeck Canal (before 1900 into the Delvenau ). The old salt road crossed it here on the Mühlendamm.
It was of particular importance because it had been part of the Limes Saxoniae since 810 and thus formed the border between the Saxons and the Abodrites ( Slavs ).
