Horschtschyk ( Ukrainian Горщик ; Russian Горщик Gorschtschik , Polish Horszczyk ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Zhytomyr with about 2,400 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1703 (another source cites the second half of the 19th century as the date of foundation), has been the administrative center of the rural community of Horschtschyk ( Горщиківська сільська територіальна громада ) in the west of Korosten district since 2017, with a total of over 3,500 inhabitants villages Wyhiw ( Вигів ) with about 330 inhabitants, Dawydky ( Давидки ) with about 210 inhabitants, Berezivka ( Березівка ) with about 300 inhabitants Schupaniwka ( Жупанівка ) with about 60 inhabitants, Pisky ( Піски ) with about 60 inhabitants, Borowyzja ( Боровиця ) with about 150 inhabitants, Krasnopil ( Краснопіль ) with about 130 inhabitants, Wyden ( Видень ) with about 70 inhabitants and Druschbiwka ( Дружбівка belong) with about 150 residents.
The village is located at an altitude of 202 m, 29 km west of the Korosten district center and 90 km north of the Zhytomyr oblast center . In Horschtschyk on the Kelmenzi – Kalinkawitschy railway line is the Omeljaniwka ( Омелянівка ) station. The regional road P-49 runs 3 km north of the village .
