Horst-Peter Hesse

Horst-Peter Hesse (born June 24, 1935 in Hamburg ; † April 29, 2009 in Göttingen ) was a German musicologist.

Life

From 1953 to 1956 he studied piano, organ and conducting at the Hamburg Conservatory and medicine and psychology at the University of Hamburg (1954–1956). After completing his music studies, he was a choir director, theater musician and director of a music school. From 1966 to 1970 he studied musicology ( Hans-Peter Reinecke , Georg von Dadelsen , Constantin Floros ), psychology ( Peter R. Hofstätter , Kurt Pawlik ), philosophy ( Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker ), education ( Wilhelm Flitner ) and at the University of Hamburg Phonetics ( Otto von Essen , Svend Smith ). After obtaining his doctorate in 1970 and his habilitation in 1978, he became professor of music theory at the Mozarteum in 1988 .
