Horst Christill

Horst Christill (* 1959 in Annweiler am Trifels ) is a German church musician and composer of sacred works and new sacred songs .

Life

In 1976 Christill studied music education with a major in piano at the Musikhochschule Saarbrücken and in 1983 church music , later at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . From 1989 to 1995 Horst Christill was cantor in Dornburg-Frickhofen and as district cantor in the Limburg an der Lahn church district . From 1996 to 2018 Christill was Catholic Cantor at the cathedral in Wetzlar, which was used simultaneously by the Catholic and Protestant congregations , and district cantor in the Catholic church district of Wetzlar. He was also a member ofWorking group for church music and pastoral care for young people in the Diocese of Limburg . Since 2019 he has been dean's cantor in Landau and special representative for NGL ( New Spiritual Song ) in the Diocese of Speyer .
