Horst Dassler (born March 12, 1936 in Erlangen ; † April 9, 1987 there ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

Adolf Dassler's son , as manager of adidas France, based in Landersheim , Alsace , developed the Adidas company into one of the world's largest manufacturers of sporting goods. Among other things, he founded the swimwear manufacturer Arena in 1973 . In 1980 he joined the management under his mother Käthe Dassler (* July 17, 1917 - December 31, 1984), after whose death he acted as chairman of the board from 1985 to 1987. For years he bribed sports officials through the SMPI, which existed between 1977 and 1982, and International Sport and Leisure , founded in 1982 . He founded modern sports corruption .

On April 9, 1987, he died of cancer . He was married and had two children.

After his death

After Horst Dassler's death, the lawyer Albert Henkel became head of Adidas for a few months. Even after Adolf Dassler's death, Henkel advised his widow and Dassler's sisters. He installed a complicated, inefficient management structure.
