Horst Ebschbach

Horst Ebschbach (born March 24, 1924 in Leipzig , † October 4, 1977 ) was a German lathe operator and professor at the University of Halle .

Life

The son of a machine shaper attended elementary school and was then trained as a tool lathe. After passing the exam, he became a skilled worker in 1941 . Since 1942 he was a soldier in an infantry regiment , in September of the next year he was taken prisoner by the Soviets. In August 1946 he was finally able to return to Germany. He worked as a lathe operator in a Leipzig machine shop, but mainly as a district youth leader. Since October he has been allowed to operate as a teacher because he was recognized as having pedagogical talents. In 1948/1949, Ebschbach headed the SED police school in Leipzig .

Ebschbach later lectured contemporary studies at the University of Leipzig . During this time he designed a curriculum for Marxism-Leninism . In 1951 he was appointed director of the workers 'and peasants' faculty and held this position briefly the next year at the University of Dresden . In June 1953 he came to the University of Halle , where he received this office and became a member of the Senate. Since 1959 he has been lecturer in political economy there. Towards the end of 1959 he was promoted to Vice-Rector for Student Affairs.

Ebschbach was released from the office of Vice Rector in August 1962 in order to do a doctorate. First he wrote a thesis on the political and ideological education of students . In 1976 he was appointed doctor phil. PhD . The dissertation was called The Origin and Development of Marx's Theory of Accumulation in the Years 1843 to 1858 .

Ebschbach died in 1977 at the age of 53. He had received the GDR Medal of Merit, the silver Pestalozzi Medal for loyal service , the silver Dr. Theodor Neubauer Medal and the certificate of honor from the Central Committee of the SED .
