Horst Elschner

Horst Karl Elschner (born June 6, 1939 in Dresden ; † January 5, 2000 there ) was a German physicist and electrical engineer . Between 1977 and 1991 he was a full professor for the basics of electrical engineering at the information technology section of the Technical University of Dresden .

Life

Elschner passed his Abitur in 1957 in Dresden and in the same year began studying physics at the TH Dresden , which he graduated with a diploma in 1962 . As a result, he was initially an assistant at the Institute for General Electrical Engineering at the TU Dresden from 1962 and received his doctorate there in 1967. A year later Elschner became senior assistant for information technology in Dresden , received his Facultas Docendi in 1970 and acted there between 1970 and 1977 as a university lecturer for information technology .

After completing his PhD B to Dr. sc. techn. at the Technical University (1973) Elschner became a full professor for the basics of electrical engineering in the information technology section in 1977 . He held this post until 1991 before he retired .

Horst Karl Elschner died on January 5, 2000 in his native Dresden.
