Horst Gorbauch

Horst Gorbauch (born April 15, 1948 in Hermsdorf , Thuringia ) is a German religious educator and non-fiction author .

Growing up as the son of a pharmacist, he attended elementary school in Hermsdorf from April 1954 to March 1958. In April 1958 the family fled from the GDR . From May 1958 to April 1959 he attended the high school in Giengen an der Brenz and from April 1959 to October 1966 the high school in St. Ingbert / Saar. He began studying German and Catholic theology in the winter semester of 1966/67 at Saarbrücken University . From 1968 to 1972 he studied at the University of Tübingen . In March 1972 he finished his studies with the state examination . He has been a teacher of German , Catholic religion and philosophy at the Uhland-Gymnasium in Tübingen since 1973 . In 1980 he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Tübingen under Friedrich Kümmel. Gorbauch is head of the Catholic school dean's office in Tübingen and a specialist advisor for Catholic religion (grammar schools) at the Tübingen regional council - retired since summer 2012. He is also chairman of the Association of Religious Teachers in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.
