Horst Hirnschrodt (born December 5, 1940 in Vienna ; † May 24, 2018 ) was an Austrian football player . The right winger was Austrian champions three times in a row with Austria Wien .

Career

Hirnschrodt began his career at SC Olympia 33 , from where he joined the offspring of Wiener Austria in 1953 at the age of twelve . He made his debut in the fighting team in March 1959 against the 1st Simmeringer SC . As the right wing and right wing he was able to quickly gain a regular place and experienced his most successful time with the team, winning the Austrian championship three times from 1961 to 1963 and four ÖFB Cup victories from 1960 to 1967.

He made his debut in the Austrian national team on April 8, 1962 in a 3-2 win over Ireland , to which he also contributed a goal. He became a regular player in December 1963 and was under Joschi Walter / Béla Gutmann and Eduard Frühwirth until the end of 1966 17 times out of 21 possible games in the starting line-up. The 1966 World Cup qualification was clearly missed during this period. After the replacement of Frühwirth, Hirnschrodt did not play any more international matches.

Hirnschrodt remained until 1967 when his original club in Vienna until he and Karl Kodat of Günter Praschak for a total of 330,000 schillings for SV Austria Salzburg was brought. In the city of Mozart , the hoped-for league was achieved. In 1971, Hirnschrodt was runner-up with the Salzburgen and reached the cup final again in 1974, which, however, was won by its parent club Austria Wien. In 1975 Hirnschrodt ended his professional career.
