Horst Jaschke (born February 24, 1931 ; † January 1968 ) was a German soccer goalkeeper who played in the 1950s for SV Vorwärts of the barracked people's police in Leipzig and Vorwärts Berlin in the Oberliga , the highest soccer league in GDR soccer . With Vorwärts Berlin he was twice GDR champion and 1954 GDR cup winner.

Athletic career

Jaschke was the goalkeeper of the company sports association (BSG) Motor Süd Brandenburg in the early 1950s . During this time he also played in the Brandenburg state selection and played games with the GDR youth and student selection . In 1952 he became champion in the third-class Brandenburg state league with BSG Motor Süd.

At the beginning of the 1952/53 season Jaschke moved to SV Vorwärts of the barracked people's police in Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga. There he was used by coach Heinz Krügel from the first league game on and was the goalkeeper of the Leipzig team that season. Of the 32 league games, he played 29 games, three times he was absent due to injury. Eight game days before the end of the season, the team was relocated from Leipzig to East Berlin and was determined to be relegated at the end of the season. The 1953/54 season began Jaschke with an international match with the GDR junior national team . His home team, renamed ZSK Vorwärts Berlin in the course of the season, made an immediate return to the upper house of GDR football in the second-rate GDR league , in which Jaschke was in goal in all 26 league games. He also guarded the goal of the Berliners in the 1954 final of the GDR soccer cup, which his team won 2-1 as a second division over the upper division BSG Motor Zwickau .

In the new league season 1954/55, Jaschke was initially again a regular goalkeeper at Vorwärts Berlin. After the fifth day of play, he was injured and had to take a seven-week break. He played the last game of the first half of the season, after which he was replaced by Karl-Heinz Spickenagel , who had come from the disbanded soccer team of the SC DHfK Leipzig . In return, Jaschke was given to their successor, SC Vorwärts Leipzig . There he played six point games in the GDR league. After the Leipzig residents had been relocated to Cottbus at the end of the season, Jaschke returned to Vorwärts Berlin. There he was only a substitute goalkeeper in the following seasons until 1960 and was only in eleven point games in the goal of the league team. In the championship titles in 1958 and 1960 Jaschke was involved with two appearances each.

Until 1967 Jaschke coached the reserve team from Vorwärts Berlin. In 1967/68 he was coach of the GDR league club ASG Vorwärts Neubrandenburg .
