Horst Penner
Horst Wilhelm Penner (born January 27, 1910 in Neuteich ; † July 11, 2002 in Kirchheimbolanden ) was a German senior studies director and historian.
Life
Penner graduated from the Winrich von Kniprode Gymnasium in Marienburg in 1930 . In the summer semester of 1930 he began studying geography and German at the University of Tübingen , which he later continued in Innsbruck and Königsberg . In 1939 he was one of Friedrich Baethgen excited dissertation on the settlement Mennonite Dutch in the Vistula estuary of the mid-16th century to the beginning of the Prussian time at the Technical University of Gdansk by professors Walther Recke and Erich Keyser to Dr. phil. PhD .
After graduating, Penner became a trainee lawyer at the grammar school in Sopot . In order to obtain the Facultas Docendi in the school subject of sport, he came to Berlin for further training .
After the outbreak of World War II , Penner was drafted into the Navy and used in the Netherlands, Tunisia and Italy.
After the war Penner became a teacher at the Nordpfalzgymnasium in Kirchheimbolanden, where he took over as senior director from 1959 to 1967. In 1967 he retired from active school service for health reasons and only taught by the hour from 1967 to 1977 at the Weierhof grammar school in Bolanden .
In addition to his school activities, he continued to deal with the history of the Mennonites and wrote numerous publications on this.
In 1989 Horst Penner was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit and the honorary gift of the city of Kirchheimbolanden for his honorary services .
Since 1930 Penner was a member of the Tübingen student union Landsmannschaft Scotland .
