Mindaugas Kavoliūnas (born December 20, 1989 ) is a Lithuanian biathlete .

Mindaugas Kavoliūnas contested his first race in the 2006/07 season in the European Cup (later IBU Cup) for juniors. In 2007 he first took part in the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Martell and was 64th of the individual, 44th of the sprint, 48th of the pursuit and 14th with the Lithuanian relay. Later in the year he took part in the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2007 in Otepää , where he was 28th in the sprint and 30th in the pursuit in cross-country competitions, seventh in the sprint and 21st in the pursuit on roller skis . Kavoliūnas ran his second Junior World Championships in 2008 in Ruhpolding . In Germany he was 80th in the individual, 61st in the sprint and 14th with the relay. This was followed by participation in the junior races of the Biathlon European Championships 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě , in which the Lithuanian was 48th of the individual, 49th of the sprint and 43rd of the pursuit. The relay race didn't finish his country selection. This was later followed by participation in the junior competitions of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute-Maurienne . In France, Kavoliūnas was 24th in the sprint and 29th in the pursuit on roller skis.

The following year Kavoliūnas took part in Canmore again in a Junior World Championship and reached places 51 in the individual, 50 in the sprint and 51 in the pursuit. Then he again took part in the junior races of the European Biathlon Championships in 2009 in Ufa and achieved placements 26 in the individual, 20 in the sprint and 28 in the pursuit. Also for the third time Kavoliūnas started in the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2009 in Oberhof . He was 39th in the sprint and 31st in the cross-country pursuit, 33rd in the sprint and 16th in the pursuit on roller skis. He ran his last Junior World Championship in Torsby in 2010 . In Estonia he came in 20 in the individual, 33 in the sprint, 38 in the pursuit and 14 in the relay. The last international junior championship was the 2010 European biathlon championships in Otepää. Kavoliūnas came in sixth in the individual, was 37th in the sprint and 32nd in the pursuit. For the relay race he was appointed to the men.

For men, Kavoliūnas starts in the IBU Cup since the 2008/09 season . He contested his first race in Obertilliach and was 93rd of an individual. In 2009 , he achieved his best result in the racing series as 63rd in a sprint in Obertilliach. Since the 2009/10 season , the Lithuanian has also competed in the Biathlon World Cup . In his first race, a sprint in Östersund , he came in 126th place. The best result in the World Cup so far is a 99th place in a 2010 sprint in Kontiolahti . He contested his first men's race at an international championship at the 2010 European Championship in Otepää and was the starting runner of season 16 alongside Tomas Kaukėnas , Karol Dombrovski and Karolis Zlatkauskas .
