Horst Schiesgeries (born January 23, 1955 in Dieckhorst , Gifhorn district ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament .

Life

Schiesgeries graduated from school in 1970 and began training as a toolmaker in the Alfred Tewes factory in Gifhorn in 1971 . In 1970 he became a member of IG Metall . In 1974 he joined the police force at the state police school in Hann. Münden and became a member of the Police Union (GdP). He worked for 38 years in the police service, from 2002 until his election to the state parliament in 2013 he was a clerk for child and juvenile delinquency in the criminal investigation service. He is married and has two children.

Schiesgeries joined the CDU in 1996. Since 2012 he has been an assessor on the board of the CDU district association Gifhorn. In 1997 he became councilor of the community of Müden (Aller) and the joint community of Meinersen , and since 1998 he has been the mayor of Müden (Aller) and deputy mayor of the joint community.

In the Lower Saxony state elections on January 20, 2013 , Schiesgeries won the Gifhorn-Süd constituency as a direct candidate for the CDU with 43.1% of the first votes and thus made it into the Lower Saxony state parliament. In the state election in Lower Saxony in 2017 , Schiesgeries did not move into the state parliament again at number 44.
