Horst Springer
Horst Springer (born July 5, 1926 in Leipzig ; † April 5, 2002 ) was a German businessman . He was the owner of the Schirmer Kaffee company .
Life
Springer was born in Leipzig in 1926 as the son of the entrepreneur Rudolf Springer. As a student he attended the St. Thomas School in Leipzig . In 1950 he fled the GDR . He re-founded his company in Dortmund . In 1992 he set up the Horst Springer Foundation for the Modern History of Saxony in the Friedrich Ebert Foundation . In 2000 he was made an honorary senator of the University of Leipzig . He died in 2002.
His grandfather is the entrepreneur Richard Springer .
