Hoarding H VIII
The Horten H VIII was a projected flying wing transatlantic aircraft of the Horten brothers .
The aircraft was developed from 1944 until the end of the war. The plane was a pure flying wing that was supposed to take all the loads in the wings. The H VIII was to be powered by six Jumo 222 piston engines, each with an output of 3000 hp. Alternatively, propeller turbines were also provided. In order to gain knowledge about the construction of such a large flying wing, the construction of a flying 1: 2 model began in 1945. This model, in turn, was to be powered by six Argus As-10-C engines, each with an output of 240 hp, and to accommodate a three-man crew. The completion of the model was planned for July 1945.
