Houda Miled

Houda Miled ( Arabic هدى ميلاد, DMG Hudā Mīlād ; * February 8, 1987 in Kairouan ) is a former Tunisian judoka . She won two titles at the African Games and seven titles at the African Championships.

Athletic career

Until 2009, the 1.71 m tall Houda Miled fought mostly in the light heavyweight division, the weight class up to 78 kilograms. In 2005 she won the title at the African Championships and the U20 African Championships in this weight class. In 2006 she was able to repeat both successes. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 she won a bronze medal. In 2007 she won the 2007 African Games in Algiers. At the 2007 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, she finished seventh. In 2008 she won the African Championships in Agadir . At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 she lost in her first fight against the French Stéphanie Possamaï . In 2009 Houda Miled won a bronze medal at the African Championships in Mauritius. At the Mediterranean Games in Pescara she reached the final and then lost to the French Lucie Louette .

Eight weeks after the Mediterranean Games, Houda Miled competed at the 2009 World Championships in Rotterdam in the middleweight division, the weight class up to 70 kilograms. She lost to the Hungarian Anett Mészáros in the quarterfinals . With victories over the Slovenian Raša Sraka and the Italian Erica Barbieri , Houda Miled won a bronze medal. At the 2010 African Championships in Yaoundé, she won the middleweight division for the first time. In September 2010 she was eliminated from the World Championships in Tokyo in her first fight against Erica Barbieri. In 2011, Houda Miled won the title again at the African Championships in Dakar . After she was eliminated in the round of 16 against the Japanese Yoriko Kunihara at the World Championships in Paris in August , she won the title at the 2011 Africa Games in Maputo with a final victory against the Angolan Antónia Moreira de Fátima . At the 2012 African Championships in Agadir, Miled also won ahead of the Angolan. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012, she lost her first fight to the Chinese Chen Fei .

In 2013, Houda Miled won a bronze medal at the Africa Championships in Maputo after losing to Moroccan Assmaa Niang in the semifinals . Two months later she was defeated by Niang in the battle for bronze at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin. At the African Championships in 2014 in Port Louis , Miled took fifth place, again she lost the battle for bronze against Assmaa Niang. At the World Championships in Chelyabinsk , she was eliminated in the round of 16 against the Dutch Kim Polling . At the 2015 African Championships in Libreville , Houda Miled won the final against Niang. After she was eliminated in the second fight against the Colombian Yuri Alvear at the World Championships in Astana , she was only defeated in the final against Antónia Moreira de Fátima two weeks later at the 2015 African Games in Brazzaville. In 2016 the African Championships took place in Tunis, Miled lost to Assmaa Niang in the final. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, she was defeated by the British Sally Conway , which means that she was eliminated in the first fight on her third Olympic participation.
