Lucie Louette Kanning (born February 15, 1985 in Amiens ) is a former French judoka . She was European champion in 2013, European championship runner-up in 2011 and European championship third in 2010 and 2014.

Athletic career

Lucie Louette fought from 2002 to 2014 in the light heavyweight division, the weight class up to 78 kilograms. In 2003, 2008, 2010 and 2012 she was French champion in this weight class. In 2002 Louette won a bronze medal at the U20 European Championships. In 2004 a bronze medal followed at the Junior World Championships. In 2005 she won the U23 European Championships and the Francophonie Games . In 2007 she won the Super World Cup tournament in Moscow. She won a bronze medal at the Universiade 2007 in Bangkok.

In 2009, Lucie Louette won the final of the Mediterranean Games in Pescara against Houda Miled from Tunisia. In 2010 she took third place at the Grand Slam in Paris . At the 2010 European Championships in Vienna she lost to the Hungarian Abigél Joó in the semi-finals , and in the battle for bronze she defeated the Pole Daria Pogorzelec . In 2011 she reached the final of the Grand Slam in Paris and then lost to her compatriot Audrey Tcheuméo . At the 2011 European Championships in Istanbul, she defeated defending champion Abigél Joó in the semifinals, and Louette lost to Tcheuméo in the final. In 2011 Lucie Louette also started at the World Championships in Paris , but was eliminated in the round of 16 against the Japanese Hitomi Ikeda . In 2012 she finished seventh at the European Championships in Chelyabinsk .

In early 2013, Lucie Louette defeated Japanese Akari Ogata in the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris , after she had already defeated Audrey Tcheuméo in the quarter-finals. At the European Championships in Budapest in 2013 , she defeated British Natalie Powell in the quarter-finals and Abigél Joó in the semi-finals. She won the European Championship by beating the Slovenian Anamari Velenšek in the final . At the 2013 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Louette was eliminated in her opening match against the Cuban Kaliema Antomarchi . In 2014 Louette lost in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Montpellier against Marhinde Verkerk from the Netherlands. In the battle for bronze she defeated the German Luise Malzahn . At the 2014 World Championships , she was eliminated by Anamari Velenšek. Lucie Louette moved up to the heavyweight division at the end of 2014, her greatest success being the victory at the African Open in early 2015.
