Hryhorij Kononowytsch Djadtschenko ( Ukrainian Григорій Кононович Дядченко , Russian Григорий Кононович Дядченко Grigori Kononowitsch Djadtschenko ; born September 25, jul. / 7. October  1869 greg. In Kyryliwka , Kiev Governorate , Russian Empire ; † 25. May 1921 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) was a Ukrainian painter of realism .

Life

Hryhorij Djadtschenko was born in Kyrylivka ( Кирилівка ), today's village of Shevchenkoe in the Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast . He studied painting from 1884 to 1889 at the Kiev drawing school of Mykola Muraschko and from 1884 to 1889 at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg . From 1894 to 1919 he taught painting at the Kiev drawing school in Kiev and from 1901 also at the Kiev art school .

He lived in the " Richard the Lionheart Castle " on the Andreassteig in Kiev, where he died in 1921 at the age of 51.

Today his works can be found in the National Art Museum of Ukraine , the National Museum Lviv named after Andrej Scheptyzkyj and the art museums in Poltava and Kharkiv .
