Hubert Hönig , also called "Hönigs Männ" (born December 15, 1907 in Mülheim , today in Cologne , † March 7, 1979 in Rösrath - Forsbach ), was a German football player.
Career
Hönig belonged to the Mülheimer SV 06 as a striker , for whom he played in the Gauliga Mittelrhein from 1933 to 1939 , one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniform top division in the German Reich . At the end of the first season, he and his team emerged as Gaumeister and consequently took part in the final round of the German championship . In the championship held in four groups of four teams each, he played all six games in Group C and scored five goals in these; only three on April 15, 1934 in the 4-4 draw against Kickers Offenbach in the second group game. The competition ended for him and his team as runner-up, three points behind SV Waldhof Mannheim , as only the four group winners contested the semi-finals.
As a player in the Middle Rhine regional selection team , he was also used in the first regional selection competition , the successor to the national cup competition.
After the end of World War II , he completed the 1945/46 season for SV Bergisch Gladbach 09 in a lower class league.
