Hudi grad is a ruin near Bistrica pri Tržiču (Feistritz) in the municipality of Tržič (Neumarktl) in Gorenjska ( Upper Carniola ) in Slovenia , on the Loiblpass road not far from the Carinthian border. The castle was originally called Gutenberg (also Gutten-, -berc, -berk and similar) and after leaving German, Alt-Gutenberg .
history
The original builders of the castle are unknown. It was first mentioned in 1156, a domino Alberon de Guotenberg and his sons received five estates near Vipava from the Cistercians of Vetrinje . These Gutenbergers were probably Andechs ministerials , but they may also belong to Brixen . The Gutenbergs were mentioned by the Andechs until 1228, they were important ministerials of the Spanheimers as early as the middle of the 13th century , and later they were in the service of the Ortenburgers .
It is unclear whether this family of gentlemen was already sitting in the castle or still on a residence near Pristava , the place directly south of Bistrica (German: Gutenberg). Building dates suggest that it was built after 1300. The first reliable mention of the castle itself ("vest ze Guotenberch") is only in 1330: Duke Heinrich of Carinthia gave it to Peter von Liemberg as a fief - the original Gutenbergers probably continued the nickname Cepel (Zaeppel).
In 1444 the castle and Neumarktl went to Georg von Lamberg († ~ 1438), who founded a branch line here as the second son of Wilhelm II von Lamberg zu Lamberg (near Steyr in Upper Austria). His son Sigismund von Lamberg († 1488) became the first bishop of Laibach (Ljubljana) in 1461/63 . Anton Josef von Lamberg (1687–1755) was auxiliary bishop and cathedral provost in Passau.
In the severe earthquake in 1511 the castle was badly damaged and no longer repaired. In 1557 King Ferdinand I gave the people of Bamberg permission to transfer the name to the Glanz Castle , which was about 5 km west of Slatna on the road to Begunje . The original castle was then called Altgutenberg, today the ruins are called "Hudi grad" ('bad / bad castle').
