Hugo Buffard (born July 12, 1994 in Saint-Claude (Jura) ) is a French cross-country skier who used to be active as a Nordic combined skier .

Career

Hugo Buffard made his first starts in the Alpine Cup of Nordic Combined in 2010. His debut in the Continental Cup took place on February 9, 2013 in Chaux-Neuve . He still competes in this today. His only victory to date in the Continental Cup was achieved on January 8, 2017 in Høydalsmo, Norway, in the Gundersen competition on the normal hill.

On January 4, 2014 he made his debut in Tchaikovsky, Russia, with a 13th place in the Nordic Combined World Cup . The best result so far was a ninth place, which he was able to achieve a day later. Buffard drove with the French team to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , but was not used there. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 2017 , he competed on the normal hill in the individual competition and finished in 35th place.

Buffard took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships several times , but he was denied winning a medal. At the 2014 Junior World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme , he came fourth in the Gundersen competition on the normal hill followed by a cross-country distance of ten kilometers, which is his best result.

In the winter of 2018/19 Buffard switched to cross-country skiing, where he initially competed primarily in the second-class Alpine Cup .
