Hugo Hay (born March 28, 1997 in Bressuire ) is a French athlete who specializes in long-distance running.

Athletic career and life

Hugo Hay gained his first international experience at the 2015 World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang , where he finished 47th in the U20 category after 26:13 minutes. He then took part in the 5000 meter run at the European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna and finished sixth there in 14: 43.86 minutes. In 2017 he finished fifth at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz in 14: 15.19 minutes and two years later he won the silver medal behind his compatriot Jimmy Gressier at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 14: 17.00 minutes . In December he reached 18th place in the U23 classification after 25:15 min at the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon and secured the gold medal in the team classification.

In 2019 , Hay became the French champion in the 5000 meter run.
