Hugo Jung (Manager)

Hugo Peter Felix Jung (born July 17, 1943 in Metz , Lothringen ; † December 6, 2007 in Mörfelden-Walldorf ) was a German journalist and communications manager .

Life

Hugo Jung studied sociology and economics at the University of Frankfurt from 1965 to 1969 and graduated as a sociologist. He then did a traineeship at the Höchster Kreisblatt and the Frankfurter Neue Presse, where he worked as a business editor from 1970 to 1972. From 1973 worked in the public relations department of Frankfurter Hoechst AG , from 1978 as authorized signatory and deputy head. In the 1980s of the nuclear energy debates, he was responsible for public relations at the Information Center for the Electricity Industry (IZE). At the end of the 1980s he succeeded Klaus Kocks as managing director at IZE, and in 2003 he retired.

From 1985 to 1988 Jung was Vice President, from 1988 to 1994 President of the German Public Relations Society (DPRG) , later honorary member and honorary president. For his commitment to qualification measures in PR training, he was honored in 1990 with the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

He was the author of numerous specialist publications and publications.
