Hugo Lotz

Hugo Lotz (born May 9, 1893 in Unter-Schmitten , † July 20, 1978 in Gießen ) was a German administrative lawyer .

Lotz studied law . During his studies he became a member of the Germania Gießen fraternity in 1912 . He received his doctorate as Dr. iur. and entered the internal administration of the Free State of Prussia . During the Nazi era , he was appointed provisional district director of the Alsfeld district in 1934 as a member of the government . From 1936 to 1944 he was district administrator in the district of Gießen . In 1940 he was elected President of the Giessen University Society.

On March 14, 1944, he came to Pomerania as the last president of the district of Stettin .

From 1954 to 1957 he was Lord Mayor of the city of Gießen .
