Hum ( Serbian - Cyrillic Хум ) is a place in the Verbandsgemeinde Foča in the extreme southeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina , directly on the Montenegrin border . Since the Bosnian War it has belonged to the Republika Srpska , one of two entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The road border crossing Hum- Šćepan Polje with a bridge over the Tara is named after the village.

Hum is located about 18 kilometers southeast of Foča above the confluence of the Tara and Piva , which from here form the Drina . There are several rafting bases on the Drina near Hum .

population

At the last census before the Bosnian War in 1991, Hum had 104 inhabitants who identified themselves exclusively as Muslims . After displacement and flight during the war, only 15 people lived in Hum in 2013.
