Humberto Suguimitzu Honda (born April 22, 1934 in Lima , Perú , † October 5, 1997 ibid) was a Peruvian carom player in the three- cushion discipline .
biography
From a young age he was interested in the practice of billiards. His greatest success was the runner-up world title at the three-cushion world championship in 1967 . In the final he was defeated by the series winner Raymond Ceulemans from Belgium. In his long sporting career, he was South American champion four times , 1966 in La Paz ( Bolivia ), 1968 in Lima ( Peru ), 1969 in Buenos Aires ( Argentina ) and 1976 in Guayaquil ( Ecuador ).
Suguimitzu was awarded the order of "Gran Cruz" (Grand Cross) des Laureles Deportivos , the highest award of the Peruvian government for athletes who have earned the merit of this award. He was distinguished by his great technique and talent. Like Adolfo Suárez Perret, he was one of the most popular athletes in Peruvian sport. With the master Adolfo Suarez he formed an incomparable duo. Together they won 9 South American three-cushion team championships for Peru. He was a total of 14 times Peruvian national champion.
