The three-cushion world championship in 1967 was the 22nd tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from September 5 to 15, 1966 in Lima . It was the world championship for the 1966/67 season.
history
Raymond Ceulemans secured the fifth three-cushion world title in a row. He also set two new world records again. He screwed the record in the GD to 1.345 and the record in the BED to 2,500 . Ceulemans set the world record in the BED in the game against the Argentinian Carlos Friedenthal. He won 60: 7 in 24 shots. That is the clearest defeat in a three-cushion World Cup. The USA joined the UMB ( Union Mondiale de Billard ) in 1966 and sent a player to the World Cup for the first time since the war. The World Cup took place in the national stadium, in which 300 people were killed in a panic in 1964, and was very well attended. There were 1200 to 1500 spectators in the hall every day. At the final it was even 2000.
mode
“Everyone against everyone” was played with 60 points.
