The three-cushion world championship in 1970 was the 25th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from May 18 to 23, 1970 in Las Vegas . It was the second three-cushion World Cup in the United States after 1937 in New York City .

history

Raymond Ceulemans secured the eighth three-cushion world title in a row. But he lost two games in the tournament, albeit narrowly. Against the American Edward Robin with 58:60 and against the Japanese Nobuaki Kobayashi with 59:60. However, the average values were below those of recent years. This was probably due to the air conditioning, which greatly influenced the way the ivory balls ran. For August Tiedtke , who qualified for the World Cup with third place at the European Championships, it was the last World Cup participation.

mode

“Everyone against everyone” was played with 60 points.
