Places 23-46 are nominated by the individual continental associations, with the following breakdown: Europe (CEB): 13, newly added since April 2013 is Africa (ACF): 2, America (CPB): 8 and Asia (ACBC): 6 The places 47 and 48 are allocated via wildcards from the host association (here: CEB). With Antoine Gholam, a Lebanese took part in a World Cup for the first time.

Failures

Since the Swede Michael Nilsson canceled his participation in the World Cup for private reasons, the Frenchman Cédric Melnytschenko moved up into the field at short notice. The Colombian Henry Diaz was robbed shortly before he left for Europe. All of his personal IDs and flight ticket were stolen. A flight to France and participation was no longer possible. For him, the Frenchman Pierre Soumagne jumped into the World Cup tournament at short notice.
